Open Call: Forum Regionum 2019 (Ukraine)

Forum Regionum is a residence program for artists, designers, architects, urbanists, philosophers, critics, curators, cultural managers and activists from Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Russia, Belarus, and Germany. The first Forum Regionum took place in 2016 in the German town of Oberhausen in the Ruhr Region.
The purpose of the 10-day residency is an expert work on a program for the revitalization of abandoned or unused buildings of industrial regions on the example of Dnipro Center for Contemporary Culture (DCCC).
An international group of 20 participants will explore local communities, interact with them in pop-up actions and interventions in the urban environment, apply various approaches and test them for reasonableness.

The aimed result of the residence:
- participants become members of the DCCC expert community;
- contribute to the concept of DCCC;
- gain experience of project work with the supervisory team of DCCC;
- see the results of formats testing;
- may plan long-term cooperation with DCCC, either personally or as representatives of institutions;
- get an opportunity to expand and strengthen networking ties;

Participant’s Profile:
- professional artists, designers, architects, urbanists, philosophers, critics, curators, culture managers and activists from Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Russia, Belarus, and Germany;
- professional experience in projects and institutions for at least 5 years;
- experience of project work with urban communities, participatory practices, revitalization of public spaces;
- ability to make a presentation, workshop, research and use participatory practices in working with local communities;
- good spoken English;
- willingness to engage in public communication and present your practices during the project.

Organizers provide participants with:
flight/transfer to Dnipro and back;
accommodation and catering in Dnipro from September 11 to 22;
350 euros fee;
materials costs for workshops/presentations/art projects
