Institut français / Cité Internationale des Arts (France) > Call for artists' residencies
Since its creation in 1965, the Cité Internationale des Arts has hosted artists from around the world. It offers a living space which encourages intercultural dialogue, where artists have the chance to meet their audiences and industry professionals. In partnership with 135 French and international organisations, each month it hosts over 300 artists from all disciplines, generations and walks of life.
The Institut français, with the support and on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs who sponsor workshops at the Cité internationale des arts, allows nearly 70 artists to experience a residency in the heart of Paris each year.
This residency programme is aimed at foreign artists who wish to undertake a research and creation project in Paris, for a period of three or six months, and who are supported by one or more cultural partners.
The Institut français provides the artists with studio housing at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. The partner associated with the artist, in France or abroad, finances the artist's travel and/or living expenses and carries out the process of submitting the artist's application.
