REGIONAL TRAINING TO EMPOWER THE CIVIL SOCIETY IN PALESTINE AND ISRAEL THROUGH A LEADING AND RESILIENT CULTURE SECTOR

The workshop aims at enhancing the skills and practice of cultural operators and grass roots activists from Palestine and Israel in project management that integrates resilience and learning as a strong component; working in partnerships; advanced training and facilitation skills (ToT). It will also include training in advocacy and mobilising the public around issues relative to culture.

Candidates should:

  • have a strong command of Arabic. Knowledge of English is a requirement;

  • work in the training field, in the cultural field, or in connected fields (sustainable development, tourism, social inclusion, employment, human rights, civil society empowerment etc.) within civil society/cultural organisations, the public sector, or as freelancers;

  • be available and commit to participate in the full duration of the workshop;

  • be citizens and residents in one of the involved countries:  Israel and Palestine;

 Candidates should have experience in:

  • designing and managing cultural projects;

  • designing and delivering a course or a training related to culture/the arts or related fields;

  • (and/or) organizing and facilitating/moderating educational programmes (seminars/workshops or other formats) dealing with culture/the arts or related fields

(and/or) show a strong interest/commitment in developing their training/facilitating/advocating skills and show willingness to self-direct their own learning

Travel and accommodation expenses for the selected candidates will be covered by the Med Culture programme.

REGIONAL TRAINING FOR THE PROFESSIONALISATION OF FACILITATORS AND TRAINERS
INVOLVED IN THE CULTURE SECTOR

The workshop aims at improving the professional skills of cultural operators and trainers with experience in the field of training and/or facilitation in the culture field, hence increasing their chances of employment in the market.
 
This workshop offers an advanced training in facilitation methodologies and techniques and an introduction to coaching, in addition to sessions dedicated to the assessment of learning needs as well as the identification of professional opportunities.
 
Based on the 2017 and 2018 Training of Trainers sessions, which introduced resilience in cultural work, the methodology of the workshop will promote a consolidated participatory methodology, inviting participants to share best practice and explore new avenues of coaching and facilitation.

Candidates should:

  • Have a strong command of Arabic. Good command of French OR English is a requirement.

  • Work in the cultural field or in connected fields (education, research, sustainable development, tourism, social inclusion, employment, human rights, etc.) within civil society/cultural organisations, the public sector, or as freelancers.

  • Be available and commit to participate in the total duration of the workshop.

  • Be citizens and residents of one of the involved countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia. Candidates with Syrian or Libyan nationality who work within the civil society sector and reside elsewhere are also eligible.

  • Have some experience in the field of training/facilitation/coaching with a great interest in developing their skills in this field with the aim at making it a professional activity.
