Independent Curators International (ICI) > Curatorial Intensive (Thailand)
Independent Curators International (ICI) presents the inaugural Curatorial Intensive in Bangkok, Thailand, developed in partnership with the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Chulalongkorn University to coincide with the launch of its international postgraduate program in Curatorial Practice, and with the James H.W. Thompson Foundation.
Focusing on the regional context of the rapidly expanding contemporary art landscape in Bangkok, participants will engage with key practitioners, curators, and artists, active in the city and internationally.
The Curatorial Intensive, a weeklong professional development program, is designed to immerse participants in a rigorous schedule of seminars, presentations, site visits, and one-on-one meetings that support the process of developing an idea for a project into a full proposal. It is a unique opportunity to forge a close network of peers and embark on future collaborations. This program is targeted toward self-motivated individuals at an early stage in their career, working independently or within institutions.
The program fee is 1,900 USD. Participants are also responsible for covering travel and accommodation expenses. Generous scholarship packages that subsidize or eliminate the program fees, accommodation, and travel costs are available and awarded based on merit. If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please include a letter of motivation with your application.
ICI offers several scholarship packages available to all curators. In addition, Taiwanese curators (based in Taiwan) are eligible to a scholarship from the Taipei Cultural Center in New York, which covers the full program fee and a stipend for travel and accommodation expenses.
Deadline: 12 August 2018
