The Braunschweig University of Art is an internationally orientated art university with the right to grant doctorates and the right of habilitation. With 1,000 students in Fine Art, Performing Arts, ART.Education, Design, Aesthetics & Art History and Media Studies, the Braunschweig University of Art is one of the largest art academies in Europe.

The Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig (HBK) announces the following scholarship to be awarded to international artists on behalf of the Federal State of Lower Saxony in 2018:

Braunschweig PROJECTS Scholarships
– Three "Braunschweig PROJECTS" scholarships for artists in Sound Art
– Five "Braunschweig PROJECTS" scholarships for artists in Fine Art

These scholarships are part of the programme of the State of Lower Saxony for the support of emerging artists at the HBK Braunschweig. This programme is aimed at young artists who are interested in working intensively on artistic projects in the close environment of an art academy.

Three "Braunschweig PROJECTS" scholarships for artists in Sound Art

Eligible applicants will receive a grant in the amount of 1,250.00 EUR per month for a term of six months. They are required to spend a minimum of three months in residence at the HBK Braunschweig. Depending on the project, an additional allowance will be available for materials and travel costs upon submission of a project calculation in consultation with the selected mentor.

 Five grants in the field of fine arts

Eligible applicants will receive a grant in the amount of 1,250.00 EUR per month for a term of twelve months. They are required to spend a minimum of eight months in residence at the HBK Braunschweig. Depending on the project, an additional allowance will be available for materials and travel costs upon submission of a project calculation in consultation with the selected mentor.
