Open Call for Touring residencies within the project Risk Change

MMSU / Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rijeka have an open call for the participation in a touring residency that will take place on 3 different locations from October 2017 until February 2019, within the scope of the RISK CHANGE project (Marseille, Novi Sad and Budapest). The project covers the field of contemporary interdisciplinary culture, art and creativity connected to science aiming to build connectivity between new-coming migrants and settled inhabitants of multicultural EU communities. The project focus is twofold → terrible RISKs the migrants are taking and the CHANGE needed in Europe to receive the migrants in our countries.

During this project, 9 international project partners will research related subjects concerning migration in Europe through solo & touring residencies, exhibitions, research, symposiums, open labs, workshops, study visits, all bundled in an innovative digital platform to ensure communication towards the European public.

The Call is encouraging proposals that carry a collaborative aspect between max two artists / experts with local migrant communities that will result in creation of new interdisciplinary artwork/s. The proposals should reflect the theme of the Risk Change project by exploring the socio-political pressures that are conditioned by the movement of the population, or those that condition migration, exile and change of residence, through interdisciplinary and intercultural approaches.  Selected artists / experts will develop their artwork/s, managed by 3 production managers, during the 3 co-working units, each lasting for 10 days on the following locations: Marseille, Novi Sad and Budapest.

Deadline: 15 September 2017
