Air Arabia Curator in Residence (Sharjah)
Sharjah Art Foundation in collaboration with Air Arabia announces its first annual open call for a Curator-in-Residence programme.
Sharjah Art Foundation in collaboration with Air Arabia announces its first annual open call for a Curator-in-Residence programme. Air Arabia is the Middle East and North Africa's first and largest Low Cost Carrier (LCC), operating flights from Sharjah to 70 cities around the world. Selected candidates from around the world are offered a residency in Sharjah to conduct research and curate an exhibition with artists from across Air Arabia’s many destinations.
Our region is continuously redefined and ever-changing. This residency aims to exemplify this state of flux by inviting curators to work with local, regional and international artists with different backgrounds who are determined by Air Arabia’s flight network map, coming from cities and countries across the Middle East, North Africa, East Africa, Asia, and Europe.
While the specific aims of the curatorial residency may vary, the organisers look for proposals that report a genuine interest in engaging the regional context, whilst highlighting the global connection between Sharjah and Air Arabia’s destinations.
Deadline: 30 June 2017
