Border Crossings (United Kingdom) > Heritage Project Manager - Pocahontas and After: Shifting Stories
Border Crossings is currently seeking a committed and dynamic Arts and Heritage Education professional to work alongside the Associate Director in developing a community based heritage project around the 2017 ORIGINS Festival. This will involve managing a programme of workshops and museum encounters for children and young people as well as working with volunteers and school children to produce a photography exhibition. This project will focus on the heritage of relationships between Britain and the indigenous cultures of America, shown through key museum collections. It will look at London's heritage of encounters with indigenous Americans, reassessing the narrative to provide new interpretation and learning around the heritage of interactions for wider multicultural communities.
This is a 12-month fixed term post funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and offered on freelance fee contract of £25,000 pro rata for 2.5 days per week.
