3th International Residency Program in Ceramic and Photography, Talavera, Spain

The Escuela de Arte “Talavera”, with the support of the Consejería de Educación, Cultura y Deportes de Castilla La Mancha, and in collaboration with the Excmo. Ayuntamiento de Talavera de la Reina -Toledo, Spain, organise the 3th International Residency Program aimed at professionals in Ceramics and Photography.

The International Residency Program is aimed at ceramic artists and photographers to develop their work in the school facilities, where they will be provided with professional studies in Ceramics, Graphic Design and Photography.

Through this project the organisers offer artists the opportunity to make work in an art school, housed in a city which has been recognized for centuries due to its distinctive style of ceramics.

Selected residents will be given a space to create their work in the Talavera School of Art and the materials necessary to accomplish their project will be provided.  They will also have financial assistance granted by the Ayuntamiento (city government) of Talavera de la Reina.  A representation of their work will become part of the municipal archives and collection of art.  Residents will also have the opportunity to discover the city’s ceramic tradition and visit local workshops and studios.

The Ayuntamiento of Talavera de la Reina will grant a maximum of 1,800 € (euros) for each one of the residencies. These funds will be paid to each artist until the maximum quantity is reached, upon presentation and validation of receipts. Valid expenditures include travel, lodging and daily living expenses. The Talavera School of Art will grant a work space and will allow use of school equipment for the development of each resident’s work during their stay.

Deadline: 30 April 2017
