Fujifilm FIF Viseu – Festival Internacional de Fotografia - Portugal > Photography residency 'Positive change'
Fujifilm FIF Viseu – Festival Internacional de Fotografia (International Photography Festival) 2017’s edition places a contest for an artistic residency under the theme “Inspiring Positive Change”, open call to photographers, regardless their nationality. This residency will happen in April and May 2017, in Viseu – Portugal. Full assistance will be provided to the selected photographer to create a new body of work.
The challenge is to look at the neighbouring parishes of Viseu, promoting a broader understanding of their social and economic contours, valuing their specificities, bringing communities closer and involving them in the photographic project. The Inspiring Positive Change Residency aims to foster contemporary artistic creation and the development of a distinctive creative path within photography.
This residency will result on a photographic series with a minimum of 48 images, 25 of which, approximately, will be exhibited during the 2017’s edition of Fujifilm FIF Viseu. The entire body of work will be published in a book next year and released on the 2nd edition of the festival, happening in 2018. Without prejudice to the intellectual property of the images produced, the selected photographer will authorize the body of work to be part of Viseu’s art collection. Likewise, the selected photographer will authorize the publication / diffusion of the images produced under this residency by Fujifilm FIF Viseu’ Media Partners. The selected photographer will also be required to hold a workshop aimed at students of photography / arts / digital arts and a presentation of the work carried out within this residency in a conversation with guests to take place in Fujifilm FIF Viseu’s current edition.
