Job opening at Goethe Institut: Curatorial resident in New York (USA)
MINI/Goethe-Institut Curatorial Residencies Ludlow 38, the contemporary art space of the Goethe-Institut New York generously supported by MINI, is presently seeking a Curatorial Resident (2015).
Applicants should have a minimum of five years of curatorial experience in Germany and a clear vision of their own practice as curators. Fluency in German and English is expected. Knowledge of the history of exhibition making and a keen awareness of the social and political context in which curatorial work is presented are crucial, as is a critical understanding of contemporary art. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a significant link between their own trajectory and the cultural discourse of the last decades in Germany. The successful candidate is furthermore expected to possess a methodology and curatorial approach that will enable him or her to establish a dialogue between Ludlow 38 and other initiatives at a local and international level.
