Artist-in-residence opportunity: Zero Carbon Britain
Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) is inviting applications from both UK and international artists working in film, photography or digital media who wish to develop their practice through working at CAT for twelve months - engaging with its research projects and its community of staff. The start of the residency will coincide with the ‘Emergence’ Land-Journey and Arts Summit planned for 1st - 8th September 2012.
We are looking for an artist whose practice reflects an interest in sustainable futures, who is keen to draw upon the resources of CAT and to enter into a dialogue with the public.
Applicants must demonstrate:
• Creative originality and professionalism in their work.
• An understanding and desire to work with the public as part of their creative practice
• Ideas for innovative ways to respond to opportunities to work within CAT
• Dynamic and inspiring ideas about how they would use this opportunity to develop their practice and how they intend to meet the aims
The artist will be paid £24,000 in four instalments. This fee is inclusive of all travel costs, living expenses, and studio equipment and materials.
