Call for participation - International seminar on cultural diversity and the enhancement of civil society / Tunisia
This seminar Cultural life, diversity of cultural expressions, human development - perspectives and actions, organised by the German Commission for UNESCO, aims to strengthen cultural participation with the help of international comparisons. Also, it offers a platform for civil society in the field of arts and culture to enhance its self-organisation and the connection with regional and international networks.
The seminar will be held at the International Cultural Centre of Hammamet/Tunisia, 6 through 8 September 2012.
The German Commission for UNESCO is inviting up to 60 participants from Tunisia and 20 participants from other Maghreb and Mashrek countries with:
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience and/or NGO/civil society activity in 2011/2012
- A good command of French or English
- Commitment to active (periodic) participation from end of July until end of September 2012
- A minimum age of 25 years
People who are involved in a tangible way in cultural activities for human development, be it as (professional) responsibles and/or as civic activists and initiators, as for instance artists and cultural professionals, directors, artistic and cultural producers, facilitators, educators, NGOs/Associations/cultural networks, cultural operators/specialists/managers, bloggers, directors of Cultural centres, of libraries, of theatres, museums, festivals etc. are invited to apply.
For successful candidates, the German Commission for UNESCO covers the travel costs and the complete board and lodging during the stay in Hammamet (including visa fees, where applicable).
