Call for International Choreography Residency in Bangalore, India

FACETS, a Residency Programme for 15 choreographers from all over the world, is being organized by Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, Bangalore, India (www.attakkalari.org). The FACETS residency is scheduled for December 5, 2012 to January 23, 2013 in Bangalore with an optional break during Christmas and New Year.

Applicants must have a track record of choreographing original work and be interested in developing a 10 to 15 min solo dance work in Bangalore, India. We will consider the possibility of collaborating with another participating choreographer or a dancer as an exceptional situation if additional funds and facilities can be arranged. However, each choreographer has to make an original work of their own.

This work will be premiered at the Attakkalari India Biennial 2013, an international contemporary movement arts festival that will be held between January 25 and February 3, 2013 in Bangalore (www.attakkalaribiennial.org). You will have the opportunity to develop your work under the guidance and mentorship of an acclaimed team of international choreographers, theatre directors, light designers, composers and digital artists. FACETS will be artistically coordinated by Jayachandran Palazhy, Artistic Director, Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, Bangalore.
