An Argument for Mobility: In memoriam of Dragan Klaic

Dragan Klaic (1950-2011), cultural policy analyst and activist, has suddenly and far too precociously passed away last 25th August in Amsterdam.

When OTM started up back in 2002, Dragan has written a small and sharp article that was published onto our website on the importance of mobility for the arts and culture sector. Since then on he became a committed "OTM fan", passing on OTM´s URL link to all he came across with in search for mobility opportunities and resources.

Even if things have radically changed regarding the political recognition of the value of mobility for the sector, a decade afterwards Dragan´s argument for mobility remains, without surprises, incredibly actual. Referring to the year 2002, Dragan describes a "situation of declining support" and the "need to shape a climate of trust and security in Europe and beyond".

OTM joins its voice to the whole of the culture sector in Europe to pay a modest tribute to Dragan Klaic by re-publishing this article.

We will all miss having Dragan´s around.
