Reader for the OTM Meeting of EU mobility projects with mobility projects dossier, 19-20 May, Budapest, Hungary

This reader is meant as background information to the meeting of EU major projects supporting the mobility of arts, artists and culture professionals to take place in 19-20 May 2011 in Budapest, Hungary, organized by On the Move (OTM). This event is combined with OTM's General Assembly for 2011.

OTM sees these projects as a kind of laboratory where organisational and policy models as well as supportive tools are being tested. Therefore we strongly believe it is crucial to make them visible to the whole sector stakeholders, from policy makers to grassroots organizations. OTM created a dedicated section to introduce them to the sector professionals, announce their initiatives, opportunities and outcomes.

The reader contains the agenda and the participants list to the meeting. It also gives an overview of sixteen selected EU mobility support projects, including SPACE, Practics, ON-AiR, Art Farers, European Collections Mobility, MusXchange, Artistic companionship throughout Europe, Re-tooling Residencies and H.O.M.E. Although the Meeting of EU mobility projects is not open to the public, this dossier about mobility projects provides a good overview of the field.

The meeting in Budapest includes also a public press conference “Let the arts cross broders”. The press conference takes place the same day as EU Ministers of Culture meet in Brussels to adopt an EU recommendation on supporting information to mobile artists. Find here the draft Council conclusion on mobility info services for artists and cultural professionals to be adopted on the Cultural Council on 19-20 May.
