Art Moves Africa (AMA) proudly presents « Mobility &Touring in East Africa », a research commissioned in 2011 and implemented by Hildegard Kiel on the performing arts sector in East Africa. South Africa. The African Arts Institute launched The Migrant Artist’s Handbook: A guide to living and working in Cape Town & Johannesburg. The handbook undertakes to provide both Migrant and South African start-up artists with resources, references and tools to approach various arts disciplines with self-fulfilling and self-sustaining imperatives. After a two year collaboration the ON-AiR partners present: ON-AiR: Reflecting on the mobility of artists in Europe. With this publication the partners of the ON-AiR project aim to take you on a ‘journey’, reflecting on the current state of mobility in which the artists in Europe operate and their art flourishes. Report of the seminar organised in November 2011 in Helsinki, Finland by International Theatre Festival Baltic Circle (Q-Teatteri). The seminar presented new sustainable models for regional and cross-border co-operation and opened discussion on international mobility outside big cities. The speakers were professionals from the field of theatre, dance, circus and performance art from Nordic and Baltic states.

The SPACE network invested on the improvement of the sector's intermediaries capacity building in view of fruitful and sustainable mobility. This exploratory mapping is meant to initiate a reflection on the sector's organisational models and dynamics. The research was conducted by Cristina Farinha in 2011.
