Results of the public consultation by the European Commission: Improving procedures for obtaining short-stay ‘Schengen’ visas

The aim of the consultation was to collect opinions on how to have more effective rules on family reunification at EU level and to provide factual information and data on the application of the Directive. The results are now online and highlight in particular the characteristics of the arts and cultural sector with regards to high mobility and visas issues.

This highly interesting report adresses the multiple ways in which the right to freedom of artistic expression and creativity may be curtailed - including by restricting the freedom of movement.

Book: Music, culture and conflict in Mali - by Andy Morgan, published by Freemuse

Freemuse are pleased to announce the publication of its first book, ‘Music, Culture and Conflict in Mali’, which is launched in a digital and on-demand paperback edition.
