Vacancy - Lectureship for Intercultural Competence at University of Vechta (Germany)
The University of Vechta has a vacancy for the Höffmann Lectureship for Intercultural Competence for the period 01.10.2013 -- 30.09.2014. The lectureship is financed by a fellowship that will permit a post-doctoral academic from an African university or research institute (Sub-Saharan Africa) to carry out teaching and research at the University of Vechta. Open call: Nordic circus residencies in autumn 2013

La mobilité des artistes et les visas Schengen : recommandations pour la Commission Européenne (Direction Générale des Affaires intérieures) et les Etats membres de l'Union Européenne concernés
2013 est une année clef: la Commission européenne (Direction générale des affaires intérieures) va réviser le code des "visas Schengen" et dans ce but a mis en ligne une consultation publique pour améliorer les procédures d'obtention des visas "Schengen" de courte durée. Ce moment est donc stratégique pour le secteur culturel en Europe et au delà pour faire entendre la voix du secteur et pour faire connaître aux responsables de politiques publiques européens les besoins spécifiques des artistes en mobilité eu égard aux visas Schengen. Artists' mobility and Schengen visas: recommendations to the European Commission/DG Home and concerned EU Member States
2013 is a strategic year: the European Commission - DG Home Affairs is revising the EU visa code and has opened a public online consultation to improve the procedures for obtaining short-stay "Schengen" visas. Therefore this is a unique strategic moment for the cultural sector in Europe and beyond to make its voice heard and let the EU policy-makers know about the specific needs of mobile artists as regards Schengen visas. Residency opportunity at the apartment theatre Iorgean (Bucharest, Romania)
This international residence is open for the playwrighters and performers which have a project suited to be staged in this domestic space - a theatre not bigger than 32m2 in a communist block, in the apartment that hosted in the last 3 years performances and experimental theatre. US cultural organizations are encouraged to apply to host the recently selected 2013 ArtsLink Fellows - international artists and arts managers in performing arts and literature - for five-week residencies. Szpilman Award for ephemeral works - call for artists
The SZPILMAN AWARD is awarded to works that exist only for a moment or a short period of time. The purpose of the award is to promote such works whose forms consist of ephemeral situations. The prize winner receives the Jackpot Stipendium: a challenge cup, 10 days of accommodation in Cimochowizna (Poland) including journey, and a sum of money in cash. Apply by 30 September!

The Russian Theatre Union launches an open call for travel grants
The Russian Theatre Union is launching the open call for travel grants. A flexible travel grant scheme is dedicated to advance cross-border projects between Russia and Europe. Established for performing arts professionals the Scheme is a flexible tool to fund individual travel: festivals, showcases, conferences, workshops attendance, and research trips. Deadline: 31 May.
