Korea-Australia Connection initiative - Call for applications for performing arts professionals and presenters
The Korea Arts Management Service (KAMS) and the Australia Council for the Arts have partnered on the Korea-Australia Connection Initiative to support performing arts professionals to research and develop new collaborative projects. The applications for presenters are open by Wednesday 11 December 2013, while for performing arts professionals by Friday 20 December 2013.
The Saison Foundation: Special Calls for Residence in Morishita Studio / Visiting Fellows Program (Japan)
The Saison Foundation is a grant-making foundation established in July 1987 that supports projects and activities related to contemporary Japanese theater and dance in order to increase the visibility of contemporary Japanese performing arts (theater, dance, and performance art) on a worldwide level. This special call is open to artists and art managers and the deadline to request the application forms is 16 December.
Swiss artists and cultural practitioners (e.g. curators, event organisers, mediators) in the areas of the visual arts, music, literature, theatre and dance are eligible to apply. At the same time, Pro Helvetia facilitates residencies in Switzerland for artists and cultural practitioners from the above-mentioned regions. Deadline: 1 March 2014.

Cheng Long Wetlands International Environmental Art Project (residency) in Taiwan: “Fishing for a Better Environment”
Artists from all countries are invited to send a proposal for a site-specific outdoor sculpture installation that will celebrate the seafood producers and fishermen of Cheng Long village in Taiwan and raise awareness about environmental issues relating to seafood production, the main livelihood of Cheng Long residents. Deadline: 18 January 2014.
Check the eligible list of countries for projects undertaken by civil society organisations. Organisations based in non-Commonwealth Foundation member countries can apply for a grant, provided the activity or project is taking place in an eligible Commonwealth Foundation member country. Deadlines for the submission of preliminary application forms: 29 October 2013, 3 March and 30 September 2014.
Fundacion Oriente (delegation in Macau-China and headquarter in Portugal) : Art Award & short term scholarships
Fundação Oriente Macau delegation is accepting applications to the Fundação Oriente Art Award (deadline 27 September). The Fundação Oriente's headquarter in Portugal is also granting short term scholarships to applicants from Far Eastern countries - mostly Malaysia, China, India, East Timor, Japan, Korea and Thailand (applications within December 2013).
The Coordinator will act as primary point of contact for residency inquiries, assist in processing applications and scheduling arrivals, departures, and changeovers, assist in organising orientations, studio/exhibition visits, open studio events, etc. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
The ASEMUS Exchange of Museum Educators Grant Programme enhances professional development of museum educators in Asia and Europe and strengthens connections and cultural understanding between the two regions. Deadlines on 1 December 2013 and 1 June 2014.
Platform meeting of Asian and European cultural mobility funders, Prague- Czech Republic, 5-6 June 2013
Over 35 organisations and institutions from Asia and Europe gathered in Prague, Czech Republic in early June for the first ever meeting of mobility funders from Asia and Europe, organised by the Czech Arts and Theatre Institute, Kelola Foundation (Indonesia) and On the Move with the support of the Creative Encounters programme of ASEF – Asia-Europe Foundation and Arts Network Asia. The Open Society Fellowship supports individuals pursuing innovative and unconventional approaches to fundamental open society challenges. Eligible activities include hosting panel discussions, traveling to conferences, participating in policy debates, and promoting fellows' ideas in public venues.
