2013 est une année clef: la Commission européenne (Direction générale des affaires intérieures) va réviser le code des "visas Schengen" et dans ce but a mis en ligne une consultation publique pour améliorer les procédures d'obtention des visas "Schengen" de courte durée. Ce moment est donc stratégique pour le secteur culturel en Europe et au delà pour faire entendre la voix du secteur et pour faire connaître aux responsables de politiques publiques européens les besoins spécifiques des artistes en mobilité eu égard aux visas Schengen. Artists' mobility and Schengen visas: recommendations to the European Commission/DG Home and concerned EU Member States
2013 is a strategic year: the European Commission - DG Home Affairs is revising the EU visa code and has opened a public online consultation to improve the procedures for obtaining short-stay "Schengen" visas. Therefore this is a unique strategic moment for the cultural sector in Europe and beyond to make its voice heard and let the EU policy-makers know about the specific needs of mobile artists as regards Schengen visas. Artists' mobility and visas: a step forward
As a part of its advocacy activities for better conditions for the international mobility of artists and cultural professionals, On the Move (OTM) tackles visa issues: on this crucial theme we organised a training workshop in November, 15th- 16th in Brussels focused to Schengen visas. The results of this workshop form the core of this report, that presents specific obstacles faced by mobile artists, confronts theory and practice, and suggests concrete solutions. Mobility happens anyway: let’s make it happen better!

OTM co-signs the mobility pilot projects recommendations to the new EU Culture Programme
On the Move has endorsed and contributed to the common position of the mobility pilot projects on the new EU Culture programme. This joint paper was oficially presented to the European Commission at the Stakeholder Consultation Meeting that took place in Brussels on the 16th February.
